Playoff Scope Different.
Last week, I had the pleasure of watching LBJ’s Lakers bow out in the first round of the playoffs against the much improved CP3-led Suns team… respectfully.
And I couldn’t help but think, CP3 reminds me a lot of yours truly.
Team first player. Started off at rebuilding franchise. Every team I went to improved on my arrival. Locker room guy. Pride myself on doing the little things right – and I could go on.
Nothing highlights this more than my first season in the Redfern Mixed Social Division 2 competition.
Whilst the season averages aren’t all that glamorous, If my mid range isn’t falling. I find other ways to impact the game.
Season Averages Per Game.
Points – 8.6
Rebounds – 12.4
Assists – 4.1
Steals – 3.3 (Top 3 league)
Blocks – 1.8 (Top 2 league)
With me on the court, a 5-2 record. Without me, the team went 0-5…
Corey Norman, James Segeyaro & Jordan Simi struggle to coexist without my leadership and basketball IQ, smh.
This Monday however my team ‘The Gunners’ face our toughest test to-date.
The league leading ‘Basket Cases’.
This team accounted for one of the L’s I took this year, and things got chippy, so I’m sure both teams will be bringing that same energy as the loser of this contest will be sent packing.
It’s one and done.
One last thing I forgot to mention at the top of this blog was, just like Chris Paul, despite our storied careers flourishing in to our mid 30’s I’m yet to raise the silverware as a champion as well.
Is 2021 the year a couple of vets get it done?
